2017 marks the 5th anniversary of the World Health Organization's (WHO) roadmap on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and the London Declaration. To celebrate this event, Uniting to Combat NTDs, the WHO and the NTD community will meet at the NTD Summit in Geneva (Switzerland) on April 19-22.
In the last years, the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium has been playing a primary role in the fight against schistosomiasis. As such, the Consortium will join the summit through its parnters (Merck, Swiss TPH and SCI) to showcase its continuous contribution in the overall schistosomiasis field. Official speeches and presentations will evoke the progress of the Consortium program and the readiness to further join forces to impact on the NTDs agenda. Please consult the NTD summit website for more information: http://unitingtocombatntds.org/ntd-summit-2017
The Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium partners continue to engage with scientific and social communities in the fight against schistosomiasis. This neglected tropical disease continues to affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people, many of which are children in sub-Saharan Africa.
