Access and delivery
Lester Chitsulo is an independent public health consultant based in Lilongwe, Malawi. Dr Chitsulo has 35 years experience on communicable diseases control working with the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health, Malawi. When he was responsible for schistosomiasis control at WHO, access to praziquantel increased significantly, and schistosomiasis treatments rose from 12 million in 2006 to 61 million in 2014. He is a citizen of Malawi, and lives in Lilongwe, after retirement from WHO in December 2014.
