Season's Greetings from the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium

As the holiday season arrives, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year – and on the inputs from everyone helping to shape the Pediatric Praziquantel Consortium.

We are truly grateful for contributions to the Consortium during 2014. At the beginning of the year two new partners came onboard to strengthen our expertise: Farmanguinhos in Brazil and the UK-based Simcyp. Around the same time, we were awarded a grant from the Japanese GHIT Fund. This complemented the existing grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and completed the funding required to move the development program into the clinical stage, which is currently ongoing.

Our thanks also go to the many collaborators from various countries, including the African regulators who joined us for the Expert Meeting in Geneva, where the entire regulatory submission approach for the Consortium’s new pediatric praziquantel formulation was discussed.

We value our relationship with you and look forward to continue working with you in 2015 towards our common goal: the elimination of schistosomiasis.
